Instructor Certification

INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION
Are you interested in becoming a certified instructor to teach CPR and First Aid?

Your first step is to determine which certification is right for you. The cost of the Instructor class and monitoring fee is $350 per student. You will need to attend one of our regularly scheduled Healthcare Provider and/or Heartsaver First Aid classes and complete the Core Instructor Course (CIC) prior to attending the administrative part of the Instructor Course.  Instructor courses are typically held the last Friday of each month (unless it's a holiday weekend). See our Calendar of Classes tab to the left.

The HCP and/or Heartsaver Instructor cirriculum will need to be purchased prior to class date, depending which course you will be teachng. You are required to bring the instructor materials to class. Additional fees apply for these materials so please e-mail or call us for the full details regarding additional fees.

The Core Instructor Course (CIC) is required for ALL Instructors. Please contact Learn CPR, First Aid & Safety at 210.798.7988 for the security code if you wish to purchase this item on-line. The cost is $31.12 if purchased and picked up from Learn CPR, First Aid & Safety.

Once you have completed the pre-requisites and Instructor course you will schedule to be monitored teaching a full course in which you have completed training in. The instructor must have current, working equipment in sufficient quantites to meet all of the AHA requirements prior to scheuling their monitor.

We also sell various CPR & First Aid instructional / training materials. If you are interested we can give you an idea of the general costs to start up your own business or what is needed to be able to teach CPR, AED & First Aid to your company's employees.

BLS FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL
This certification will enable you to teach BLS for the Healthcare Professional.  This is a requirment for anyone in the medical field. 
 
This certification will also allow you to teach any Heartsaver course.   If you plan on teaching Heartsaver courses also we require you to sit in one of our Heartsaver CPR and First Aid classes.  The BLS and Heartsaver courses are very different.
HEARTSAVER FIRST AID
With this certification you can teach the General Lay Person CPR, AED and First Aid.  This is anyone who is NOT in the healthcare field such as: Construction workers, Childcare providers, Personal Trainers & Foster parents.
 
This certification will NOT allow you to teach BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
